Piilani Highway between Kula and Kaupo, on the south side of Haleakala. This whimsically twisty road skirts the south slopes of Haleakala through lush, green, rolling hillocks reminiscent of the Scottish moors. In the two or more hours we drove this road we saw only half a dozen other cars.
