| One of my favorite things in downtown Austin: the Frost Building. See the "owl"? (Photo copyright Greg McCroskry.) I also liked the river, which was lush and humid and popular with kayakers. There is a nice walking trail along both sides of the river. For about half the year, nearly a million bats live under one of the main bridges. They fly out en masse every evening, but this time of year they fly after dark, so we weren't able to see them. |
