Crock Pot String Meat We buy beef whenever it gets cheap. We cut the meat into chunks and put into quart Ziploc freezer bags, about 1.5 pounds per bag, and freeze the meat. That way, when beef goes on sale you can buy a bunch, and when you need to cook it just pull a bag. 1.5-2 pounds meat 2-3 cloves garlic 1/4 cup jalapeno peppers 1 can beef stock water to cover Cut the plastic bag off the frozen meat chunks. Dump the frozen meat into the crock pot in one chunk. Peel and press in 2-3 cloves of garlic. Add 3 or 4 sliced cocktail jalapenos. Add the stock and water to cover. Simmer the meat in the crock pot all day. 30 minutes prior to dinner, dump the whole contents into a pan on the stove and boil it on high to reduce the stock. Keep it on the heat until only a tiny bit of liquid remains - don't cook it dry, and for sure don't discard the liquid. After the liquid has gone into the meat, shred the meat with a fork. This is a very generic recipe. The meat can be served directly over baked potatoes, rice or toast, or it can be used in tacos, burritos or enchiladas. When only a little is left, toss it into a salad.
