Islamorada (pronounced "eye-la-moh-rada"), in the northern Keys. The name means Purple Island. Looking out over Florida Bay, with the middle Keys in the distance. The word "keys" probably comes from the Spanish cayos, meaning "small islands". More than 40 bridges now connect these islands, like a Caribbean necklace, for more than 126 miles. Grant is standing on fossil coral.
